btw....hits = offensive statistic. such an offensive statistic does NOT = runs. however, offense = runs. hits and runs are not mutually exclusive, but are correlated.

That is why it's a silly argument to begin with, though.
One can argue that hits = offensive statistic, therefore hits = offense
While another can argue that runs are really all that matter for offense, therefore only runs = offense.
But in the end all you're doing is arguing about the meaning of the word "offense"

No a silly debate is on the definition on run support! That was a good one. That whole Peavy mess was quite hilarious! Offense=runs PERIOD!! There are some things that aren't debatable.
