    Giants Giants@St. Louis 4/18-4/20

The Giants split the four games series last week against the Central leading Cards. Hopefully the Giants can win this series.

Game One- Matt Cain vs Todd Wellemeyer. Cain had a no-hitter going through six but eventually lost it and got the no decision thanks to the bullpen. The Giants actually scored some runs for him that time. Cain is 0-1 with a 3.24 on the season.

Game Two- Tim Lincecum vs Joel Piniero. Lincecum pitched a beauty last time out against going six strong and striking out eleven. Let's hope he can do it again while going deeper into the game. Piniero was lit up in his first game back going 3 2/3 giving up 6 runs.

    Game Three
    - Jonathan Sanchez vs Braden Looper. Sanchez has been inconsistent so far and last game went five innings giving up three runs. Sanchez needs to get deeper into ballgames.

Cain was absolutely lit up tonight giving up 9 ER in just 3 2/3 innings!! What an awful outing for him after throwing 6 no hit innings last game. Bowker got the start at first but is hitless. Threets came in and didn't look that sharp walking four in 2.1 innings but didn't allow a run. Lewis has a stolen base. 9-1 right now in the 8th

Giants wind up losing 11-1 thanks to Hennessey giving up his usual two runs. Hennessey now owns a 13.97 ERA.

Great game yesterday from Lincecum throwing seven shutout innings and striking out five. He is now 3-0 and by far our best pitcher so far. The great thing was Lincecum keeping his pitch count down and ending up with 95 pitches in seven innings! Wilson got the save and Rowand hit his first homerun as a Giant. Rowand was 3-4 with 2 RBI.

Giants bats come out today in the 3rd innings scoring six runs!! Bowker hit his third blast of the year and the all come against the Cards. Molina is 2-2 with 2 RBI, Durham is 2-2 with 1 RBI and Rowand is staying hot going 1-2 with a RBI so far this game. The top four hitters are a combined 6-8 with 3 RBI. Castillo has done well in the #2 hole.

A few roster moves here. Threets went on the DL so Yabu is back up, Rajai Davis was sent down after a poor start and the emergence of Bowker and Emmanuel Burriss was called up. Hopefully Burriss can help spell Bocock and provide more offense from the SS position.

Its now 8-0 as Molina hit an RBI single only to be thrown out at second and Rowand hit a bloop single for a RBI.

Giants win 8-2 and take 2 of 3 from the Cards on the road. Double plays was the key to winning this series. The Giants turned six DP's in the two wins. Sanchez gets his first win of the year but only lasted five innings thanks to a high pitch count. He walked four but only gave up two hits. Yabu had two shutout innings and Valdez looked sharp pitching a perfect 8th and striking out two. Chulk gave up two runs in the ninth. Molina and Rowand are starting to get the bats going and Bowker now has three homers in 22 at bats. Great win and a great series for us.

Great game today except for Choke. When will the Giants learn that you don't get a throw in because he is a great player. You get them because the other team wants to get rid of them.

That throw in is the only worth a damn in that trade. Just think we could still have Jeremy Accardo if we didn't go for Hillenbrand and Chulk.

On this we can agree. Jeremy Accardo is a fine pitcher and better than any player we got in return.
