    Another Slap In The Face

Barry Zito was named the Opening Day starter over Matt Cain. Cain has a much better season and its time to name him ace. Zito is a great leader and just a fun guy to have on any team but he isn't the top of the order guy. If anything this gives the Giants a good balance in the rotation going lefty, righty. lefty, righty, ?. I think Cain gives us the best chance to go against other aces. Cain deserved this honor after the pathetic run support he got last year.

The Giants just don't want to lose their opener 1-0

Zito = #2 (at BEST!). End of story. I'd actually prefer that he were put in the rotation according to his numbers: (1) Cain; (2) Lincecum; (3) Zito.

That's only because of last year's game when he gave up 7 runs to the Yankees and only got 4 outs, which destroyed his Opening Day numbers. Otherwise, Zito has always pitched well on Opening Day.

My bad, I meant 2006. I was still thinking of 2007 as this year.

Man I was way off. Zito is 0-3 with a 9.49 ERA on Opening Day.

On opening day, Zito's going down like one of those cheap Gold Club whores that Andruw Jones screwed with.
