    Giants Got Relief?

    Nope, not quite.
Giants signed RHP Scott Williamson to a minor-league deal and invited him to spring training.
Not a bad gamble for the Giants, who add the 32-year-old Williamson at almost no risk. If he stays healthy, which is a huge "if," he would add some very affordable depth to the bullpen.
This would have been a great signing if it were five years ago. All I can say is that this is better than the Yabu signing. Giants need all the help they can get in the pen.

personally, i love this move in the context of this very unproductive offseason. williamson was filth-nasty in his hey-day...even if he comes up for a few crucial games, maybe he can provide that bump that'll keep the giants resembling a major league club, and not the beer league-esque club for guys 33+ (with the exception of rowand and ortmeier).

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants have offered a minor league contract to Byung-Hyun Kim.
The newspaper notes that Kim may be holding out for a major league deal, but he may have to relent after posting a 6.08 ERA last season.
Good lord Sabean! Are you even trying??
