Did the Giants Act Too Soon?

In July, the Giants extended Brian Sabean as GM for two years. Today, Terry Ryan steps down as GM of the Minnesota Twins. This is the same Terry Ryan that hosed us in the A.J. Pierzynski trade. Brian Sabean has held this team back for a while now party because of owners wanting to build around Bonds. For the past few seasons, Sabean has continued to lose his magic. I'll admit, he has done better as far as not losing talent. He's managed to keep Lowry, Cain, Lincecum and his drafts have been good the past two seasons but overbidding for Zito and outbidding themselves with Bonds has shown that he's declining. Maybe the Morris trade will get his motor going again but how great would it be to have the guy who traded A.J. Pierzynski for Francisco Liriano, Joe Nathan and Boof Bonzer rather than the other way around?

A man who can hose the Giants on a deal? It sounds like he should be a Dodger.

Dodgers already have a good GM.

That Bernie Lomax look-a-like is a shitty GM.
