    Padres @ San Fran

After winning a series against the Yankees, the Giants need to take these next two series to try and get back in the West. The Giants have three against the Padres, a day off and then a three game series against the Dbacks. Padres and Dbacks are #1 and 2 in the West.

First game will have two promosing prospects Justin Germano (5-1, 2.63 ERA) facing Tim Lincecum (2-2, 5.88 ERA). Lincecum has been awful of late and the Giants were going to skip his start but decided not to. Molina will be catching him which he hasn't been the pat couple of starts.

Game two will have a battle between lefties David Wells (3-5, 4.71 ERA) and Barry Zito (6-8, 4.83 ERA). Zito has go to start earning his paycheck. He has been awful of late as well. He is 0-3 in his last three starts and has an ERA over 10. He lost the season opener against the Padres so hopefully he can get his revenge. Bonds has a .350 BA against Wells.

Game three has HOFer Greg Maddux (6-4, 3.84 ERA) dueling Matt Cain (2-8, 3.46 ERA). Cain can't buy a freaking win. He has a better ERA than Maddux but Maddux has a better record. Giants have to score for this guy as he is having a crazy first half. Get Cain a much deserved win!!

You guys should be lucky that Peavy isn't going to pitch.

Lincecum pitched great, 7 innings of shutout ball, our bullpen ****ed up again, Kline allowed 2 hits, in comes Correia and he allows a 3 run HR to Cameron, Giants down 3-2, bottom of the 8th, Roberts came through with an rbi single to tie the game up at 3-3, top of the 9th.

Well we're headed to extra frames now. Still tied 3-3 in the top of the 10th.

Pedro Feliz came through. I have to say that the Giants took the hard way to the win, but it was a win nonetheless.

Yup thats all I care about right now, as long we win, doesn't matter how we do, as long we get it done, thats what matters.

The Giants bullpen has been a serious problem for them all season long. The starters are usually effective as in last nights game with Tim Lincecum. It was good to see the Giants pull this out against a division rival though.

It was the mid-relief pitchers who blew the lead. It's a shame that Lincecum wasn't able to get the win after allowing only 4 hits in 7 innings, not to mention that he struck out 8. He had a nice game last nite. He really deserved that win. Oh well. There's always next time...

Up next is Zito and Wells. Now this is a game to watch! Oh, yeah, Turn2-I think you'd better check your post again...you used the homophone instead of the right word. Nice one.

Tonights match-up should be a pretty good one. S.D. will look for revenge against the Last place Giants and Zito who hasn't been at the top of his game alot this season.

Lincecum did deserve the win as has Cain. Cain has a horrible record and a good ERA. Our bullpen is dreadful and the Giants should try and trade Kline and let one of our young guys like Misch get a shot. I am sure teams want a veteran lefty in the pen even if he is having a bad year.

It was a great win with Feliz of all people coming up in the clutch. Lincecum showed us what he is really made of after having three horrible starts. Great game against a good team.

I agree. Cain needs a win. He's pitched phenomonally this year, but the lack of run support results in a less than stellar record. As for trading Kline, if the Giants really feel the same way that you do, they should start shopping, with the trade deadline a month away.

I remember when Kline was on the Orioles. He was not only terrible, but he also had a big mouth and a terrible attitude. It was not soon enough when they shipped him out of Baltimore.

He hasn't been a cancer off the field but only on it. Last year he was great down the stretch. I can't see the Giants waiting for him to have another great second half.

Giants are tied 1-1 going into the B 5th. Zito has looked sharp giving up just three hits.
