Giants acquired LHP Travis Blackley from the Mariners for outfielder Jason Ellison.
Blackley was a top pitching prospects before tearing his labrum and missing the 2005 season. He returned last year to go 9-12 with a 4.06 ERA, 149 H and 105/50 K/BB in 155 IP, most of them coming at Double-A. He has yet to recover his velocity and he wasn't a hard thrower in the first place, so he's turned into a long shot to have a career. Still, it's better than losing Ellison, who was out of options, for nothing.
I was hoping to get something better for Ellison but that didn't pan out.
