Giants trainer Stan Conte has stepped down after 15 seasons with the team's medical department.
Conte is probably the game's most recognized trainer and he's regarded as amongst the best in the business. Dave Groeschner has been promoted to take his place. "(Barry)Bonds' issues never came into the picture when talking to Brian Sabean about my decision," Conte said Monday. "It was really a personal decision. I'm moving on to the next project." One of those projects is finishing his doctorate in physical therapy at Boston University.
