Pitching coach Bud Black seems to be the front-runner to land the Giants managerial job if, indeed, Felipe Alou is not brought back. Black was born in San Mateo and pitched for the Giants from 1991 to 1994.

So what's wrong with Righetti? I like Black as he is a down to earth type of guy and has been under a good mananger like Scioscia, but do we need to go outside of the box?

Man i been hoping since 02 when dusty left that they promote righetti as a manager, it wouldn't surprise if they brought an outsider this time, but it will piss me off.
