SF: RHP Matt Morris (8-7, 4.42 ERA)
Morris has won his last five decisions, escaping a loss in his last outing on Wednesday despite giving up five runs in the first three innings against Milwaukee. Not having his best stuff, Morris changed speeds and used pinpoint control to keep San Francisco in the game.

WAS: RHP Ramon Ortiz (6-9, 4.73 ERA)
Ortiz's only major error in his last outing against the Marlins was giving up a solo home run in the second. The homer was all the offense Florida needed, spoiling an otherwise solid outing for Ortiz, in which he allowed just one run on six hits over seven innings.

    Player to watch
Shea Hillenbrand is batting .357 (5-for-14) with two doubles and a home run for his career against Ortiz.
Let's hope Morris can continue to do well. Oritz and Morris have similar ERAs so it should be interesting. Alou is not in the lineup.

2-0 after the first. Not a good start.

Luckily for the Giants, it's Ramon Ortiz, and now it's 2-2.

Looks like it's going to be a fun, high scoring game, at least.

Giants lose 8-6 but Ray Durham remains on fire. He ht two homeruns tonight and leads the Giants in that category. I repeat, RAY DURHAM LEADS THE GIANTS IN HOMERUNS!!! Correia pitched very well in long relief after Morris blew absolute dick!

Got a little scary at the end there, for me anyway, due to Cordero, but the Nats came through.

Church had a good game, nice to see that for a change.

I have liked Church ever since he was called up last year. He needs to show more consistency and he can have a job on any MLB team.

Giants get swept!!!!! Giants blow a three game series against a weaker team in the Nationals. Benitez blew a save yesterday in a game we should have won and today Cain looked like shit and we get swept. This was a great opportunity for the Giants to make some ground in the West facing the Nats and Pirates this week and instead we have fallen deeper in the West and WC.
