Schmidt stays put and for good reason. Did anyone see John Kruk try to explain why the Giants should have traded him? It was hilarious because he said the Giants had no shot at the playoffs when they are still in two races for the playoffs. Then he went on to say that the Giants won't be able to do anything from years to come! He went on to say how old some of the guys were on the team but failed to mention most of the old guys are FA which means we will have money to spend after this year. Bonds, Durham, Alou, and Finley are all likely to go which with those three players frees up $40+million. I was laughing too hard when he was saying this shit. Not to mention the Giants will get a draft pick if Schmidt sings with another team. And no mention of Schmidt being a 10-5 guy

I find that Kruk says a lot of things that are pretty ignorant. He thinks he's an expert but the crap he keeps saying makes absolutely zero sense.

By the way Reefer, I'll step up and say you were right about Zito not being traded. I thought for sure he would be seeing as how hot the Mets were going after him..good call.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants manager Bruce Bochy is hoping a few of his former players will follow him up the coast.

The club is negotiating with the agents for Mark Loretta, Dave Roberts and Rich Aurilia -- three players whom Bochy has managed recently in San Diego.

The Giants are talking to free agents David Riske, Russ Ortiz and Doug Brocail as they attempt to add pitching depth.
Riske would be a nice signing, though he's not the alternative to Armando Benitez that the team is looking for. Ortiz would likely compete for a rotation spot if signed.

Riske is the only one that makes any sense. Goddamnit Sabean! Why aren't we looking into Jason Jenning?
