feel free to move the posts if you like...I probably would since it's taken away from the "rumor mill" subject.
The Giants said he was unavailable for a trade because they do want to sign him to an extension. He will be one of the top FA pitchers and will demand a lot of dough. Schmidt has said he wants to go to Seattle but if the Giants give a good enough offer, he has said he would love to stay. If Seattle blows his skirt up, I don't see any reason for him not to sign with the M's.Quote:

I would love for the Padres to get rid of Linebrink:)
If it's a deal that would bring Lowell and Crisp, I'd make the deal. Cla Meredith has shown that he can handle the setup roll and he hasn't given up 9 HR's like Liney has.
Steve Phillips is saying that the Giants are looking into Roberto Hernandez from the Pirates. No word on what it would take but seeing how Benitez blew his 7th save, the deal might just happen.
on espn.com, main page... Jayson Stark says:Quote:
The Yankees added the big bat of Bobby Abreu to their lineup Sunday.
Jayson Stark says New York's first-place team is interested in adding
a Giant arm to its staff before Monday's deadline
If Milledge isn't involved, it won't happen. I doubt it would happen even if his name were invovled. The Giants are still contenders.
That would be odd... trade for Hillenbrand, trade for Stanton, go after Hernandez, and then turn around and move Schmidt.
It would be more than odd, it would be ****ing stupid! Schmidt is alos a 10-5 guy so he can turn down any trade proposal.
Reefer, I was surprised to see that article as well and I would be equally surprised if Schmidt gets moved. The Mets would have to make a big offer for Sabean to even think about it....doubt it's going to happen though.
Here's the article on ESPN.com if there's anyone who didn't see it....

Schmidt stays put and for good reason. Did anyone see John Kruk try to explain why the Giants should have traded him? It was hilarious because he said the Giants had no shot at the playoffs when they are still in two races for the playoffs. Then he went on to say that the Giants won't be able to do anything from years to come! He went on to say how old some of the guys were on the team but failed to mention most of the old guys are FA which means we will have money to spend after this year. Bonds, Durham, Alou, and Finley are all likely to go which with those three players frees up $40+million. I was laughing too hard when he was saying this shit. Not to mention the Giants will get a draft pick if Schmidt sings with another team. And no mention of Schmidt being a 10-5 guy:)
