Giants get 2 on and 1 out but fail to get a run across thanks to Greene and Feliz. Feliz grounded out on the first pitch he saw. Who'd a thunk it?

Bear, if you want a change this team all you have to do is one thing and tht's find a manager!! Roger Craig could do better than this ass. Sweeney over Ellison and batting cleanup?

Niekro hit his 2nd homer of the game to make it 5-3 in the 9th. Sadly the guy before him swung at the first pitch again and did nothing with it. Can you guess this player?

Giants lose their third in a row as the marlins won 5-3. Lowry looked good but made one mistake that cost him and the team. Giants had opportunities but failed. A key word for the Giants woes all year has been inconsistency.
This falls on Felipe Alou. I don't think we have used the same lineup two days in a row and that's a huge problem. Sweeney hitting cleanup is a huge problem. I think it is time for management and Alou to talk about the future. Alou is done after this season and see no reason why he shouldn't step down or just get fired. Moises might be upset but he is a professional and will understand. Bonds' dad was fired and he didn't like it but knew life goes on and he has a job to do. Too many bad coaching mistakes has been the major part of this team playing right at .500! Its not a lack of talent or old age but simple lack of a leader!

This is not just a problem with Felipe Alou. This is a Team problem and the main part is age. The age of the key players and the age of Felipe. The winds of change are blowing.

We get a little hope and then lose 3 straight. Sigh.

We have NO hope! Just the hope we get needed time this season to develop new talent for the future. Also get some young players to develop for the vets we can no longer use. Lets hope the Giants see the writing on the wall. JMO

Schmidt aiming to stay perfect vs. Fish
    San Francisco (26-26) at Florida (17-33), 4:05 p.m. PT

Last season, Giants ace right-hander Jason Schmidt said he felt as if someone else was impersonating him on the mound -- and not doing a very good job, finishing the season with subpar 12-7 record and 4.40 ERA.
But Schmidt, a Cy Young Award candidate in 2003 and 2004 with 35 victories, is back big time this season, riding a four-game winning streak and sporting a minuscle 1.33 ERA over his last six games.

And guess what? Schmidt has made 15 career appearances vs. the Marlins, fashioning a 6-0 record, with Florida being the only National League team that has never beaten him.

His teams are 10-5 vs. the Fish overall, but he hasn't faced them since a 6-3 win May 1, 2004, at AT&T Park.

Meantime, there's a probability Giants slugger Barry Bonds could miss Wednesday night's contest due to an aching back, a tight calf and general soreness. He was taken out of Tuesday's contest after being in the original lineup.

Manager Felipe Alou isn't sure if Bonds will be in the series finale.

"I'll wait until he gets here [Wednesday]," said the skipper.

    Pitching matchup
SF: RHP Jason Schmidt (4-2, 2.78 ERA)
Schmidt started the season 0-2, but is 3-0 with a 1.21 ERA during five May starts. Over his last six outings, he's struck out 34 batters and only given up nine walks.

FLA: RHP Josh Johnson (4-2, 2.18 ERA)
Johnson continues to shine since moving into the starting rotation on May 4 from the bullpen. In his last start, the right-hander outdueled Mets ace Pedro Martinez, allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings, both career highs. This will be Johnson's first career start against the Giants.

    Player to watch
Omar Vizquel ripped his fourth triple of the year Tuesday night and has hit safely in 32 of his first 51 games.
