Brenley is a good choice because he knows this team/division and he has been in the booth for a couple of years and has an outsiders perspective. He has a ring and did well with the young guys in AZ like Overbay, Durazo, Tracy and Spivey. More importantly, he doesn't use 15 relievers to get 3 outs!!!!

I like Brenley and If they hired him I would be happy. Also I agree with your last point. Alou wears out a bullpen like no other manager! All this being said my first choice would be Righetti. He is here, has the players respect and deserves a chance.

On balance until the last two years people seemed pretty happy with Alou. He's kind of wearing on poeple now. Losing will do that. But yes, he has that tendency to go nuts with the pitcheers and I hate that. Plus he comes up with some barraze lineups. WTF?

Before we hired Alou............Righetti said he doesn't want to manage.......he doesn't want to have to worry about the $***, he just likes to handle the pitchers.
