We need two Players! They need to be ready to play in the major leagues
now. First, a closer and second a 1B. Its simple. Now find them!!!

Well they don't seem to be in the farm system that's for sure.

Finding a "closer" is problematic since there are probably 25 teams who have a similar need.

    Not a chance!

We have a couple of needs. But teams, especially those in contention, don 't have an excess of good hitting/fielding first basemen and closers to trade to the Giants. BTW, trade for WHAT? We don't have a lot to give.

I'm afraid we're kind of stuck in the closer department this season. As for a first baseman hell we have Niekro what else do you want?

    You said it all!

Well that's the problem with the diluted player pool. Most teams are looking for the same thing. And, (unless your the Yankees) you most often find that person in the minor league system. But this takes time. We've been trying to find the answer now for about 48 years and it's getting old. How do you think "Cub Fan" feels?

Valdez sadly looks like he might never make it. He has way too many walks and gives up the runs.

We have a closer. Problem is we haven't had too many save situations and Benitez isn't getting his wrok in. We need effective set up guys. Benitez has done well since returning from the DL. He has only blown one save but still got the win. He only has 9 ****ing innings of work which is pretty damn sad for our closer in mid May.

And what the hell was Ortmeier doing playing over Jason Ellison? This guy has the most speed and can play good defense. Ortmeier looked pretty sloppy the other day versus the Cards.

The Giants love Ortmeier's Bat. But playing the the last game before he was to be sent down after letting him sit was stupid. This is a kid who needs to play to stay sharp. Ellison is a fine player who in this case should have started but it is just another case of Alou having a Brain FART!

    Giants to promote Jonathan Sanchez

Giants are calling up Double-A pitcher Jonathan Sanchez for his major league debut on Friday, May 26. Sanchez, who pitched in Low-A Augusta for the regular 2005 season and played with the High-A San Jose Giants in the postseason, was pushed to Double-A Connecticut for the 2006 season. He began the season as a starter, making 3 very good starts with a 0.55 ERA before being switched to the bullpen. In his first bullpen appearance, Sanchez gave up 3 runs on 2 hits, a walk and a hit batsman, but has calmed down since. On the season overall, he has a 1.15 ERA with a 2-1 record in 3 starts and 10 relief appearances, and has given up 4 earned runs in 31.1 innings with 46 strikeouts and 9 walks.
