What a sweet game except for Armando Benitez. We need a NEW closer! Lets hope Cain has a great outing and does not need relief.

    GO GIANTS!!!

Well we tried to resurect Worrell (wasn't he being used in the closer role?) and that was a disaster. These closers don't grow on trees. Any suggestions?

    OK, I'll buy into that.

Call Alou in the morning. I'll meet you later and we can have coffee with him down at the wharf and bend his ear.

We don't need a new closer! That was the first time Benitez has pitched in a week. He needs innings and work. Maybe its a new manager but Armando needs his wrok or else he will remain rusty like last night. he still got the win and did settle down.

Oh and Schmidt has gone five straight starts without allowing more than two runs.

Giants are up early 1-0 in the top of the first as Pedro Feliz has just struck out with men on. Just put the goddamn ball in play!!!

The Giants win 6-0 to take 2 out of three from the Oakland A's. What a win!! Cain goes the distance.

    GO GIANTS!!!

good series by the Giants holding the A's to 3 runs total...we only won the first game thanks to AL Pitcher of the week (for last week guaranteed) Dan Haren.

but you guys gotta be somewhat concerned with Alou leaving Schmidt out there for over 130 pitches and Cain for almost 120. Does he have zero confidence in the pen or what?

With our Pen who could have confidence? Schmidt & Cain are tough though and if they do not have to do it again for a while they will be fine. Also they have enough starters to go with a six man rotation if need be. That may not be a bad idea until a relief pitcher steps up and takes hold of the closer roll.

    GO GIANTS!!!

Matt Cain threw a one hitter today.

    Remarkable.
