Will Bonds Hit 714 in Oakland?

Barry Bonds will have two day rest going into the Oakland series. He will DH in Oakland and I wonder if you experts feel that he will hit 714 and maybe more over the weekend? Be kind he is a Old Man! (Old Man Who Can Hit The Sh.t Out of the Ball)

    GO GIANTS!!!
    GO BONDS, END THIS QUEST!!!!

I think he'll do it. DHing him for this series definitely helps him by changing his mindset dramatically so that he won't need to worry about defense.

I think he can do it because during the Astros series it appeared that he wasn't swinging out of his shoes every time. He was hitting line drives and had a quit short stroke. He keeps this up, the line drives will go into the bleachers. Ellison should get some playing time this weekend.

Reefer...I agree. His stroke has shorten up, and he is not getting under the ball as much. This is the weekend that Ruth moves to #3!!!

Well frankly I am sick of hearing about it every day. The pressure must be tremendous and yes it's affecting the team to some degree. Funny how the team didnt' miss a beat yesterday when Barry was out of the lineup.

To be honest, if Barry retrired tomorrow it wouldn't bother me all that much. I have always been a big Bonds fans but maybe it's just time.

The distraction is almost unbearable. People seem to be rooting against Bonds and almost laugh each and every day he doesn't hit 714. It would grate on me. I'm betting it's grating on Barry Bonds too.

he needs 2 homers? Haren, Halsey, and Blanton are starting. Haren has given up 11 homers (in 57 1/3 innings) already despite the fact that he doesn't throw a straight ball and generally keeps it down in the zone, but that is his best shot. Halsey has only given up 3 homers in 28 innings and Blanton has only given up 4 homers in 49 1/3 innings. Certainly, he's got a shot, but I'm going to say he'll hit 1 homer and that'll be it.

hey, it's just one man's opinion You gotta think he may get a day off as well...but I think 1 homer in 3 games at a pitcher's park is a reasonable prediction.
