    Makeup Game Tonight vs Astros

Lowry will make his second start of the year and I hope it lasts a lot longer than his first start. Noah will have to make that start against one of the best pitchers in the league Mr. Roy Oswalt. Oswalt is 5-1 with a 2.86 ERA. Lowry finally gives us a lefty in the rotation which should help I think. SF has lost four in a row and really need a win against a good team like Houston. Barry is not likely to play even though Oswalt has failed to get Bonds out.

    Padres

Giants should be able to beat Houston, especially with them coming off just getting their ASS handed to them by Colorado.

Giants tried their hearts out to blow this game but they come out with a win and against a damn good pitcher. Giants got seven runs in 4.1 innings off of Oswalt. Lowry pitched extremely well and brought life to this team. He gave up only two earned runs over 7 innings. The bullpen however gave up 3 runs over two innings as they continue to suck. Fassero was sent down for assisgnment to make room for Lowry. Fassero's playing days are probably over now which means Kline is the only lefty in the pen now. That makes Kline and Lowry our only lefties on the team which is not good. Knoedler was sent down to Fresno and Ortmier was called up. In 30 games with Fresno, Ortmeier was hitting .294 with three homers and 23 RBIs.

Randy Winn left Monday night's game after five innings with a right knee injury.
Winn fouled a ball off his knee. He stayed in to complete the at-bat after a lengthy break, but he didn't return to the field for the top of the sixth. Consider him questionable for Tuesday's game.

    Padres

I love how the Giants were picked as the favorite in the NL West and it's Colorado who's out in front, but they're looking over their shoulder at the Padres and their current 9 game win streak.

I love how a week ago the Padres were in the cellar. Its a marathon and the Giants still have a good chance. They are also looking at Arizona. No one is going to break out of this division. Giants finally have their rotation together but have Alou to go on the DL. When healthy, we are still the favorites.

Good point Reffer. There is a good chance the division wil lbe won with a .500 record or just a little better. As Lon Simmions once said when St. Louis beat the Dodgers to force a palyoff --- ``they haven't won anything yet but they're still alive"!

If it's not the Padres that win the division, I hope it's Colorado. That is a very good and very scrappy ballclub that can make some noise in this division.
