    Well it's really starting to feel that way. We just can't get over the hump. The WS against the Angels really burns my ass. That series was ours and we just chocked it away. Baker didn't help much either.

    Lance Niekro is sitting out a second straight game on Tuesday with a sore right shoulder.
    Manager Felipe Alou mistakenly said Monday that it was a back injury. "I thought it would be better [Tuesday]," Niekro said. "When I woke up this morning, it felt the same." Jose Vizcaino replaced him at first base.

    Niekro cannot stay healthy for more than a week at a time, Minor Leagues included. Giants have to really ask themselves, is this the future at first base?
