Giants recalled infielder Kevin Frandsen from Triple-A Fresno.
The Giants had no at-bats available for him before he was sent down April 12 and they still don't now. Maybe he'll have some fantasy value if Ray Durham gets hurt.

Giants placed RHP Russ Ortiz on the 15-game disabled list, retroactive to May 2, with elbow neuritis in his right arm.
Could it be Tim Lincecum time? There hasn't been any indication yet, but it'd be hard to pick anyone else to replace him in the rotation. If Lincecum comes up and pitches well, Ortiz shouldn't have a spot once he's ready to return.

Please say its Lincecum time!!!

What do you guys think the odds are that Lincecum gets called up?

The way Ortiz is pitching and since he went on the DL, I say the odds are good. Our rotation is looking good besides Ortiz. Lincecum should not go to the bullpen when he gets called up. Tim should take Ortiz's turn in the rotation. We are very much in this race and need to do everything to stay near the top of the division.

Russ Ortiz will undergo surgery to repair the torn flexor tendon in his pitching arm.

When and where Ortiz will have the surgery is still undecided. He will miss the remainder of the season.

It was a risk and it didn't turn out good. Who didn't see this coming? Giants need to find a better end of the rotation guy for next year. Sanchez has lost it mechanically but Misch might be the guy the rest of the year. We shall see what happends come the September call-ups.
