Dewon Brazelton could see starting time.

The Padres have discussed moving a veteran starter into long relief, which would allow Dewon Brazelton to slide into the rotation. Brazelton is out of minor league options and guaranteed $500,000.
please tell me that veteren is Shawn Estes

also in this article (they're both in the "notes" at the bottom)

The Padres, looking for a Triple-A shortstop as insurance for Khalil Greene, are close to signing Ricky Gutierrez, who entered the majors as a Padre in 1993. Gutierrez, 34, last played in the majors in 2004, batting .243 in 103 games with the Mets and Red Sox.

I heard the veteran is Woody according to Rosenthal. Brazelton moving to the rotation is great news for everyone else in the NL West.

Not if he's figured out his mental issues it isn't......that kid has electric stuff, controlling it was his only issue..... and so far, reports are he's figuring it out..... he's said that the problems last year with his family are resolved, and now he can concentrate........

    Well see.....
