    Padres Padres trim roster

nothing really suiprising here, but some people have been sent down to the minors.

Cuts made: Trimming to 46 players, the club optioned first baseman/outfielder Paul McAnulty and outfielder Freddy Guzman to Triple-A Portland.
Right-handed pitcher Jared Wells, left-handed pitcher Sean Thompson and catcher George Kottaras were optioned to Double-A Mobile.
The Padres also reassigned right-handed pitchers Kenny Baugh, Cesar Carrillo and Mike Thompson, left-handed pitcher Erick Burke and infielder Matt Bush to the Minor League camp.
Although I was hoping Guzman and/or McAnulty would've made the major league roster.

Everyone in the spect circles are hoping Carillo is ready in August-September.

As for Guzman getting sent down already, why?

Guzman isn't exactly rocking Spring Training.......and we're not lacking OFers right now...... Termell Sledge is going to get the 4th OFer role is my guess thinking....and if Sledge is playing then Roberts can be our off the bench speedy pinch runner ( Guzmans only other asset ) ......... at least that's what I think ....
