    Bush to move to pitcher?

    From UT...
    http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniont...6padnotes.html

The Padres have discussed the possibility of converting shortstop Matt Bush, their first pick overall in the 2004 draft, into a pitcher. Bush pitched for Mission Bay High and is said to have mid-90s velocity.
Wow, how the mighty have fallen. And that's a long drop from being the #1 pick.

Man, he seemed to be a bad idea the instant the Padres picked him up.

I think it is safe to say your a 'bust' when you are asked to please stop hitting and start pitching.

the guy was just about as good of a pitcher as he was a short stop in high school

I find it hard to call the guy a bust when he hasn't had a chance to fail yet...

Everyone seems to forget that just because the guy was a bad choice for the #1 overall, he was still ranked to go in the upper half of the 1st round.

It's not like they picked some bum off the streets 1st overall.

LOL. You mean he hasnt been given a chance to fail as a pitcher yet? Fine...he hasnt, but obviously the Pads and the rest of baseball world dont think he has much of a chance to be a good ML SS.

albbla...........actually not really.........he's just not projected to be better than Kahlil, so why not move him to a spot where he may be of use to your team....... is more like it.......... we don't need a SS, but we do need pitchers..... can you see the clear difference ? I had actually figured him to be converted to the OF last year, but to a pitcher is fine too.....he was dominant in HS off the hill, but this is a much different level as we're all aware.

your point? If the guy makes it in the majors as a succesful pitcher then he's not a bust. Furthermore, the guy is, what? 20, 21 years old?

To label him a bust right now is just assinine.
