The Bengals have arguably the deepest group of wide receivers in the game.

The Chargers don't match up with that on a pure passing offense level.
you said pass blocking OL twice

So basically you're saying Palmer was in a "much much better" situation just because the Bengals have a better OL and better wide recievers.

I say that's not neccesarily the case because Rivers will have a lot of weapons himself.

And it won't take "miracle" free agent signings to improve the OL...which isn't too shabby, just not great.

My bad on saying it twice.

Well, generally, a quarterback needs two things in a passing offense... wide receivers... and an offensive line. So yeah, that's why Palmer was in a much better situation.

Rivers will have a lot of weapons, but they won't be as good as the Bengals weapons, nor as deep as the Bengals weapons.

well, based on your arguments, I will agree with you to a degree.

Palmer was in a much better situation in order to produce an outstanding passing game.

Rivers, however, is still in an equal, if not better, (but arguably maybe not quite as good...but still comparable) situation to WIN...which is the bottom line.

I can agree he's in a better situation to win, but I was arguing against redsfan28 comparing them on a pure individual performance level from year 1 to year 2.

Look it's pretty simple........ Rivers in inheriting a very powerful offense, and will step into a situation where, if he does posess the ability, he will be able to hit the ground running. This isn't Cinn....and Rivers isn't Palmer.....Cinn has it's pro's and con's just like SD..... to say one offense is better than the other IMO is crazy talk.....one offense is built around a passing game, the other a running game........hardly apples to apples........Cinn might have the edge in passing, where clearly the Chargers have it in the running department...... personal opinion can decide which TYPE of offense is better.....

Well in all fairness to Drew........... Miami handled their business with Culpepper first.......... then Brees signed with the Saints......at least that's the order it was reported in....... I think Brees was waiting to see what the Dolphins did, and then took the alternate choice

The reports are saying Drew chose New Orleans because they offered more guaranteed money than Miami would.

I heard that Miami went ahead with the Culpepper trade. That left Brees at New Orleans.

I really don't know what happened. At first I thought that Brees was just using NO to get Miami to offer more cash. Then I thought Miami was using Culpepper to get Brees to sign quicker. I think Miami just decided that they had enough of waiting on Brees and took Daunte. I'd rather have Brees, but I can't complain about Daunte, and a 6 year deal scares me anyway if that is what Brees was asking the Phins for.

Not likely, unless getting Bush is completely motivated by P.R. They gave fat stacks to Deuce.
