    Playoff Rotation

    #1 and #2 are obvious, Peavy/Eaton

the question is, who's #3? I fear they'll go with Lawrence or Woody, I prefer they go with Astacio. Then Woody, Lawrence, or maybe Park if they need a 4th starter. I trust them 3 all the same. I'd probably give the edge to Woody, mainly cuz he has the post season experience.

Here's Astacio's numbers since putting on a Padres uniform.

    59.2 IP, 3.17 ERA, 33 Ks, 26 walks, 4-2.

If you take away his one bad game, the only game in which he's given up more than 3 ERs, then they look like this

    4-1, 2.62 ERA, 31 Ks, 20 walks, 55 IP

Pedro Astacio hasn't exactly had a great career, but he's having a stellar late season performance. Nobody really knew who Sterling Hitchcock was till late 1998.

    I want a playoff rotation of Peavy/Eaton/Astacio/Woody (if they need a #4).

They wont go with 4.........Peavy will pitch in that spot........he's going to toss two games........... I also would prefer Astacio, plus he's earned the chance to start........ Woody has been just horrible........another brilliant transaction........ ask for a #3, get an over the hill #5.........ugh.....

I'm picking the Padres over the Cards in 4, strangely enough. Carpenter has stumbled just enough lately that Peavy will surely win game 1 over him. And I think that the Padres will be able to rough up Mulder and Morris.

By the way, Peavy's turn in the rotation is Saturday, but I assume that Bochy will hold him out for Game 1 of the NLDS right? Right?

it's clearly the thing to do. Just as long as Peavy's doesn't take out the trash or anything.
