SAN DIEGO -- Celebrating their fourth division title in franchise history and first since 1998 with a rare rout, the Padres eliminated the Giants in a 9-1 romp on Wednesday night, claiming the National League West title behind veteran Pedro Astacio, a stellar bullpen and a balanced attack featuring rookie outfielder Ben Johnson and Mark Loretta with three hits apiece.

I'm gonna ask the Dodgers to rollover this weekend......so that the NLWest champs can have a 4 game lead squashing the east coast whining about a .500 team being in the playoffs........it will look better for us all in the West that way....... Dodgers can't improve their spot, and can't play spoiler so why not just roll over for the sake of the West ?
