Re: What to do with Bell?
And I'm not sure what relevance Ned's track record has besides his recent 1.5 years of having to dumpster dive for trash like Jay Gibbons. And I'm not aware of the Padres offseason plans that will net them Albert Pujols to fill the hole at first base.

Re: What to do with Bell?
When did I say they'd sign Albert Pujols? I know you love jumping to conclusions but that's a pretty big leap even for you.

Re: What to do with Bell?
Okay, so if an elite slugger like Pujols is not within the budget, what exactly is your idea of key additions to the offense besides having to bring in more marginal cocks like Ludwick and Hawpe on one-year deals?

Because you can't build a contendor without making a splash in free agency.

You kind of have to make a splash when your team lacks legitimate third and cleanup hitters.

I don't see any legitimate 3rd and cleanup hitters in SF.

I don't see how you can compare your team to Arizona and SF when your lineup is complete shit and your pitchers aren't Cy Young candidates.

Re: What to do with Bell?
I don't think I was making any comparisons of San Diego to Arizona or San Francisco.
All I know is San Diego was competing as recently as last year and I highly doubt Adrian Gonzalez is the only difference between last year and this year. (Mat Latos with a >4.00 ERA as compared to his performance last year is probably another factor for instance)

Hey now, Pablo and Beltran are legitimate #3 and 4 hitters.
