    Padres Latos already having problems

    Mat Latos has been scratched from his scheduled Saturday outing due to a sore shoulder.
    Not good. Latos is by far the Padres' best starter and was expected to start on Opening Day in St. Louis, but those plans may need to be scrapped. He has allowed 10 earned runs in 10 innings of work so far this spring and is now battling discomfort that also kept him from throwing a Wednesday bullpen session. None of that mixes well for a player this late in the spring.
    I was expecting this at some point but didn't think it would come this early. Latos had one hell of a workload last season, a lot more than he is used to. The Padres need Latos if they have any chance of being near the top of the West.

    Latos will miss start the season on the DL. Stauffer will be the Opening Day starter.
