Sucks to see Hoffman go out on such a bad note but glad he did finally retire.

Agree. He's a classy guy who had a remarkable career. He wont hold the saves record for very long but he was the first to 500 and was the first to rack up a number eve close to that, and no one can take that from him. I got his autograph in San Diego once, he was a very nice guy.

Watching Around The Horn yesterday Kevin Blackistone pointed out that he thinks the east coast didn't necessarily give this enough attention because of the time difference and I hope that isn't the case. This was a remarkable career and I really like Hoffman. Congratulations to him and his outstanding career.

Hopefully what Blackistone said isn't true.

Of course it's true.....many don't want to admit it, but there is an EC bias......Hell Trevor couldn't even retire without Mariano Rivera being mentioned, and he's one of the ESPN poster children who still has a ways to go to do what Trevor has already done. Granted he probably will, but nothing is guaranteed especially the future. If Rivera was playing for a small market team that mention would have never happened....

Rivera is great, but let Trevor retire and have a moment for himself for christsake...
