Could be a better option than Headley......or at least offer Headley the motivation he needs to finally have that breakout season some are still waiting for

He could be offensively but not defensively. Should be a good platoon guy for both Headley and Hawpe.

Yeah he's a small hit on D, but his offensive output and ability to protect either Hawpe or Ludwick could be more of a benefit. I'm just saying it could be an option or at least force Headley to finally show up for a full season, and not just the first half of one

Rumors suggesting that the Yanks are interested in either Richard or LeBlanc now that Pettitte is retiring.....

If they are willing to give up a top prospect.....say a Catcher.....then I think the Padres need to listen even if it's for Richard. Of course I'd rather see LeBlanc go, but I doubt he has much value in return....

I think he got wind that he wasn't making the club so he bowed out gracefully...

If he can return from surgery this is a great p/u and addition to an already wicked bullpen

Padres signed INF Alex Cintron to a minor league contract.
Cintron signed a similar deal with the Nationals in February but never made his way to the big league roster and will now give it a go with the Friars. The 32-year-old batted just .228/.278/.298 with three RBI over 61 plate appearances last season at the Triple-A level.
They keep looking better on paper

Cintron signed.......Hudson headed to the DL.......what timing.........Hudson pulling up lame last night left a bad taste in my mouth.......Its really coincidental to me that a week after he blasted the fans for booing the team off the field, that Cintron was signed and he hits the DL....

Forsythe's contract has been purchased, and he's been called up and will be in uniform today
