There's a stunning lack of control with all these pitchers.
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
    Ted
: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
    Barney: Circle gets the square!

I wouldn't call Towers a genius if Jake continues to struggle. It wasn't exactly his choice to trade Peavy.

You can commend him for the return if Richard and the rest do great, but not really if it simply turns out they traded Jake at the right time.

Knowing when to move and acquire guys is what makes a GM a genius.....when it comes to pitching.....KT is a man among boys.....when it comes to position players......yeah not so much

Generally speaking this is true, but in this particular instance it's not as though Towers decided now (well, then) was the right time to trade Jake.

He traded Jake because Moores dictated that Jake's salary was too high and he had to go.

In other words, any GM would have traded Jake at that time under the given circumstances so I find it hard to applaud Towers for "picking" the right time to do so.

This, as a general statement, I do not disagree with.

    First post updated.

Other than Carter pitching like a big pile of dung and Poreda's disturbing K/BB ratio this trade is looking pretty good so far.

I say this as I patiently await mofo to come in and edjucamate me.

Not to mention Clay Richard with arguably his worst start of the season especially considering who it came against. Poreda had a nice night however with 3 scoreless innings.

I think you better worry about Poreda's abominable walk rate instead of his K/BB ratio. This guy is teetering on becoming the next shitty George Sherrill.
