    No room for Prior?

With Wolf and Germano pitching so well where is Prior going to pitch when he gets healthy?

    Re: No room for Prior?

A healthy Prior could be the Padres best pitcher. Better the Peavy, or even Maddux in his prime. He has that kind of arm. Key word being healthy. But if Prior is good enough to throw, you make room for him. He's got tremendous talent. If anything I'd get rid of Wolf or Maddux. As Wolf is 32, and Maddux will only be around for another season or so.

Peavy and Prior could turn into the best 1, 2 punch in the majors. Chris Young being a number 3 if Prior healthy, is the start of a very deep rotation. Especially if Germano is for real.

Peavy, Chris Young, and Greg Maddux are cemented in the rotation.

This is really a "Who goes? Wolf or Germano?" question worded differently.

Wait and see if everyone's still healthy and effective by the time Prior is ready to come back.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Germano goes to the bullpen of course.....unless he's delt in a trade to bring in the missing link

Even if he still has a 0.00 ERA by then?

Not that I think that'll be the case.

But, then again, I'm not entirely confident Wolf will continue to be this good either.

Wolf started off last year pretty well too until he exploded. I would wait until he exploded again then put Prior in there.

This is what I would do, if Germano and Wolf are both healthy and pitching good by the all-star break, and if the Padres remain in contention, why not go with a 6 man rotation then? I think it would be a win win situation for both sides, and keeps everyone happy IMO.

I was thinking along the lines of a pseudo-six man.

Keep Jake and CY on their regular rotation and then flip through the other 4 for the other games.

I'm sure he'll give up some runs between now and when the question becomes pertinent.

I was simply asking what if?

Why not start Prior in the bullpen and see how he does?

He needs to go through the motions slowly if there's any hope of him saving his career. The cubs keep rushing Wood back and that's been awfully pretty for them.
