Leo is right. Lincecum got himself out of jams and did a great job last night allowing only one walk. Lincecum can give up hits but as along as they don't turn into runs, it doesn't matter. Wolf once again gave the Giants a hard time but this time it wasn't enough. Good hard fought win for the Giants. That the Pads couldn't do anything against Hennessey is amazing@!

    6 ip, 4k, 1bb, 5h, 2er - Wolf
    6 ip, 7k, 1bb, 7h, 1er - Lincecum

Wolf matched him pretty well..... and had we not run ourselves out of that 6th ( I think it was ) inning.....he might have "outpitched" him

Padres had 28 men left on base. Can't pin it all on one play.

Sounds like Lincecum got a bit lucky in regards to that play, but still, you can't say the guy had a bad outing because of "if" scenarios.

Yeah, it could have lead to more damage...or he could have gotten the next 3 guys out.

    He had a good line.

Not trying to be a smart ass here or anything and I didnt get to see the game, but how does 7h, 1 bb, and 1hb equate to 28 men LOB?

It was implied when JD said the Padres offense "handled Lincecum fine" and then went on to back the statement up stating that it was more the Padres offense "(falling) apart at the wrong times."

But I guess I could be reading too much into that.

It doesn't. You are simply taking Lincecum's numbers. There was more to the ball game.

Considering the debate is about Lincecum's line I think it's only fair to only discuss how many runners were left on base while he was pitching.

Yah you're reading too much into it......handled fine does not even sit in the same realm as bad outting......Lincecum is a damn good pitcher, and we got the hits, pulled the walk, and WE couldn't get the job done because of poor fundamentals........that's not on Lincecum his outting was fine, that's on the Padres for playing terrible ball when it counted, and not making Lincecum pay when they finally had their opportunity that they created....

Fair enough. I don't have those numbers. Padres didn't capitalize on opportunities and Lincecum played a part in that. Giants had baserunning blunders too. Ortmeier was picked off. Now on to the mighty Sanchez vs Germano game.

I never said it was a great line, your the one saying that the Padres "handled Lincecum fine" and if getting one run off of 7 hits. But then again I'm not surprised too this by the Padres offense, they can rack up the score card with the hits, but those hits are useless when you cant manufacture runs, especially in this tough division where one or two runs can determine the outcome of the game.

You are. I was just responding to the comment in post 28 of "Have fun with Lincecum today" implying he was going to have his way withus. In my opinion we handled him fine with 1bb, 1hb, and 7 hits and fell short on getting the baserunners across the plate.
