It's been the same story every year since 2004. Everyone thinks it's finally Trevor's time to burn out and he proves them wrong.
One of these years they're going to be right, though.

Saito is pretty damn good, though, so it's not like he made a dumb pick. (Such as Chan Ho Park over Randy Wolf)

If we are talking careers of course I would go with Hoffman. Right here in the now I have to take Saito. Look at his numbers. Saito's not exactly young either but he still has good stuff and is the better closer right now.\
I would take you Leo over Randy Wolf. The guy's a mess!!
You talk about Wolf like he's Darrel May or Scott Elarton
He's nothing great, hell he's actually kinda bad, but he's not the horrible lucky to have a rotation spot pitcher you make him out to be.
He has a better career ERA, WHIP, and ERA+ than both Esteban Loiaza and Chan Ho Park and he's younger than them (albeit not by much) yet you think Wolf drags a rotation down a lot more than either of them does.

Wolf is like Elarton and May now!! What about him tells you he's good. I seriously doubt Loaiza makes the rotation and the same hopefully goes for Wolf. Rusch is outpitching Wolf. Point is I find the Dodgers rotation better.
And I love how you had to take the Crystal thing to the worst extreme. It couldn't be that he wasted an AB from a deserving player.
You're making the mistake that I think Wolf is good.
I just don't think he's as horrible as you're making him out to be.

Wolf was racking up quality starts for LA up to the end of May, but then he couldn't quite keep it up without getting great run support, and then, of course, his shoulder gave out. Overall, he's not horrible, but yet another guy whom you have to take the good along with the bad.
To Reefer: Loaiza has the 5th rotation spot virtually wrapped up, pending a sobriety test.
If he fails his sobriety test, he can always knock on Omar Minaya's door.
It's always been my fantasy to pitch in the major leagues.
Maybe I can convince the Giants to allow me to pitch an inning of ST so I can ruin Tim Lincecum's career.

Ugh, this reeks of the Jesse Foppert and Jerome Williams star treatment jinx. Even if Bills and Clay become just "pocket No. 2's", I'll take that.
Excuse me but there was never any Foppert, Williams talk of them being the future of anything. Williams was a good story when he came up but no one projected him to be more than a third starter at best and no one ever gave Foppert the future ace label. Realistic projections when they first came in were Foppert as a #2 and Williams a #4. I was even asking for a Foppert trade for a closer when he first came up because I didn't see what the big deal was.
Foppert was labeled the top pitching prospect in all of baseball back in 2003. Williams' ceiling wasn't as high as Foppert's but Williams was thought to be the more polished pitcher.
But neither were thought of to be aces of this staff. #2 and #4 were what they were thought of when they were coming up. Then Foppert actually pitched in the big leagues and that soon went away. Same went for Williams.
