    Re: Padres@Diamondbacks 4/18/08-4/20/08

Greg Maddux and Chris Young switched spots, apparently because Maddux prefers pitching on four days rest instead of five. And Young could always use the extra day off. I'm going L-W-L here but an L-W-W is possible, as I don't know if the Padres will hit Randy Johnson (they didn't hit Rockies relievers yesterday for 15 innings!!) That being said, I'm not sure how they'll do on Friday, after finishing the 22-inning affair on Friday morning close to 4:30 AM, having to travel to Phoenix immediately after, and having this game start at a weird time of 6:40 PM, less than 14 hours later?

    Correct predictions:

    Astros series [Mar31-Apr3]: HollywoodLeo, JayDawg27, love_that_reefer
    Dodgers series [Apr4-6]: browntown653
    Giants series [Apr7-9]: none
    Dodgers series [Apr11-13]: DirtyKash
    Rockies series [Apr15-17]: none

Me too! I hate that mofo. Can't believe AZ took him back.

W-L-W, but I secretly wanted to say L-L-L as the Pads always eat it in Zonie land.

should be a good series. both teams have talent and should be in the mix for the entire year.

I edited the numbers to reflect that but I can't change what it says you picked when you click on view results.

is going on here. And when's the last time you've seen someone give up 9 runs but still manage to go 6 innings?

Make that 7 innings for Maddux. Talk about MANNING UP. Big ups to Maddux. He could have thrown in the towel after getting rocked in the first inning, but instead went out to pitch 7 innings, which is very important in giving the overworked bullpen from yesterday a big break.

It's simply Bud Black giving the bullpen the day off after yesterday's 22-inning marathon.

Not like the Padres had a lot of options here. Maddux got rocked but had to stay out for as long as did. He's a team player and definitely took one for the team.

Something I noticed is that Edmonds was taking terrible routes to the ball. Not used to seeing that.
