    Well he wont be up to ride pine, so think about how many things now have to go wrong for us to promote him to starter in LF.......especially now that we just traded for Humber.....

    Sucks to hear about Barfield, but, I guess when you have an OPS below .600 last year, you probably do deserve the demotion.

    His bat will be needed but expect a lot of growing pains and a lot of platooning with Hairston. No ones learns a new position in two months. It will take time. Alfonso Soriano is still learning the OF.

    The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Paul McAnulty will begin the season with the Padres.
    McAnulty was out of options, and the Padres decision to keep him with the team means that new acquisition Justin Huber could be out unless Jim Edmonds starts the season on the disabled list.
    A smart move considering...
