    Re: 2008 off season thread

PFF, I talked to Darren on Friday about Loretta, he's not an option any longer. I don't know if I told you that before you left for the weekend.

Hey, you know how much I'd love to have Loretta back, no question about it. I've been on that bandwagon since the end of the 2006 season.

I apologize if I feel the need to remove a post made one response into the thread completely disregarding the request made in the initial post.

As I said, Let's please keep this thread on topic.

Throwing accusations at another member about "running people off" and stating the number of posters who are currently active in this forum is not on the topic of off season rumors.

This is my last and final request.

Anyway...I can't imagine that the Padres won't get the deal done for Clement. I know that Colorado and Kansas City have expressed interest, but if he wants to be here, he'll be here.

    Re: 2008 off season thread

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but it caught my eye browsing the baseball rumor pages....

The Padres are considering offering arbitration to Mike Cameron and Michael Barrett. Barrett seems like a no-brainer. He's a Type-A Free Agent and would be worth a 1-year deal.

Reggie Sanders will consider retirement if he can't land a deal with the Dodgers, Giants or Padres.

Comp picks are what SA covets.......this shouldn't shock anyone....

    Re: 2008 off season thread

You beat me to it Fres. Just saw it. If they are going to do it, they better do it quick because the Rockies really like Barrett.
The Padres reportedly are strongly considering offering arbitration to Michael Barrett and Mike Cameron.
That's what they want other teams to think, at least. Offering Cameron arbitration is an easy call, but Barrett, a fellow Type A free agent, would likely accept it. If the Padres put out the word now, it's likely because they hope someone else will bite and sign him before the arbitration deadline, earning San Diego two draft picks.
Cameron is on everyone;s back burner and looks like he will be patrolling CF once again for the Friars.

    Re: 2008 off season thread

I read something else that said Sanders was mulling over TV offers as well. I think he'll go that route because the Padres, Dodgers and Giants really don't have room for him.

He'll end up retiring I think.

Cameron missing an entire month sucks.........that means he'll have his notoriously slow month in May..... and not be worth a damn until June.......terrible news if we resign him

    Re: 2008 off season thread

Depending on the amount Cameron's arbitration which should be ample, he'd be a fool not to accept it.
