I don't want Jenkins more so because adding him means we're not adding a better player than what Jenkins himself brings to the table.

I don't have delusions of grandeur that we're getting the top FA on the market, but I'd like to think we can get someone better than Geoff Jenkins with the freed up payroll room.

He had 3 seasons of 500+ AB's. Look, it's pointless to keep arguing about him. I know you're not thrilled with the idea that the Padres are even thinking about bringing him on board, but look at how many diamond in the rough players KT has come up with. Maybe he'll become another....

He's not the be all end all player I'd imagine either, but a guy who has 7 seasons of 20+ HR's could help in anyone's offense.

20+ HR's at Petco, no, but he doesn't have to hit all of his HR's at Petco does he? Adrian hit 30 HR's this past season, only 10 of those were in Petco.

All I did was answer the question asked. Leo asked if I think Jenkins could hit 20+ HR's in Petco and I responded to his question.

The agent for Mike Cameron said he and the Padres have held talks, but nothing that suggests a deal to bring the free-agent center fielder back to San Diego is likely. Agent Mike Nicotera on Monday described his discussions with Padres general manager Kevin Towers as "cordial and informative." Cameron, who turns 35 in January, has generated the interest of several teams, Nicotera said, with Washington, Texas and the Chicago Cubs reportedly among them.

His options seem limited.......so yah.....no real shock......I do hope though that we still make a run at Fukudome or Rowand first.......and fallback to Cameron if that fails

The way the conversations have sounded between the Padres and Cameron and his agent, I just think it's to see what Cam is looking for next season. I don't think he's coming back, plus Cameron has already said he'd be interested in playing in Washington, so I think that's where he ends up.

I had the same thought. The list of players that got pushed to the back burner should definetely peak the Padres' interest for sure.

I know PFF and I, outside of this forum, have talked about Reggie Willits, the young Angels OF'er. Now that the Angels have signed Torii Hunter, along with having Vlad Guerrero, Gary Matthews Jr. and Garrett Anderson, it doesn't look like they have a lot of room for Willits. If I'm KT, I'd get on the phone with the Angels and see what it would take to get him.
