    More San Diego fires?

    What's wrong with Southern California?

Are the trees made of match sticks?

(rhetorical question. I know the basic reasoning.)

    I hope everyone's ok...

    Re: Southern California Fires

It's not just San Diego that's burning. At my last count, there were 13 fires burning through LA, Orange and San Diego counties. The one in Orange is the closest to where I am, it started at 6pm at 20 acres and in less than an hour, had spread to over 200 and has gotten larger since then. What's scary is, where that fire is burning is on the road I used to take to work before I moved to the Western part of Irvine.

Something I heard earlier this evening. The fire that is burning in Castaic, there were winds clocked at 108 MPH, no joke.

I can only report on 2 of them, as a press conference just concluded. The Malibu fire and 1 other were down power lines due to high winds, no reports on the one in Orange or San Diego county.

Come tomorrow morning, winds could gust up to 90 MPH in some areas. Also, temperatures will be in the upper 90's in LA, into the triple digits in the inland areas.

This could get a lot worse in the next 24-48 hours.

    Re: Southern California Fires

dude it is nuts right now... I am in Santee and in 03 with the ceadar fires it came right up the canyon real close... this is still a bit farther out but it is 0% contained they just don't have the resources there are 5 fires burning in san diego right now.

Ramona, poway, descanso, rancho bernardo and down by tecate etc etc..

All of Ramona has been evacuated Racho Bernardo Poway etc etc

It is like the cedar fire but instead of a ring of fire around east county there is a ring of fire around all of san diego and it is all blowing owards the beach jumping freeways and such ( it jumped the 15 which is like 16 lanes)

I am just staying home from work and watching the news and if it gets too crazy i am getting the heck out with the wife and kids...

I hope they get this thing under control. They have been working on it all night and it has only gotten worse I fear with all the fires up in LA and northern california our state just doesn't have the resources.

    Re: Southern California Fires

We're taking on evacuee's right now at our house.........we have several family members that are now here........and there are now two fires in north county that we can see the smoke from as well...........

    Pretty scary........

Fires have burned all the way to Black Mountain Rd. in Mira Mesa at the I-15 if that hasn't been said yet........that area sits on a huge canyon, that goes all they way to the ocean in the Del Mar area........and then empties into a reserve area that would lead into to the Mira Mesa corridor.......it's crazy !!

My mom was evacuated from her house this morning at 4:30am due to the Rancho Bernardo fire, so you can bet your ass I'm keeping a close tab on it. Anyone who has updates on that one would be greatly appreciated as I'm not getting any updates on San Diego from the LA media.

My uncle is a recently retired fireman living in Rancho Penasquitos. From what I've heard, he's been called in for backup? I dunno...
