    Re: Jason Bay available?

They never put Kouz in left during ST, they had a platoon of Sledge, Paul McAnulty and a few others. To be honest, I think I would rather keep Kouz over at 3rd, since he's had a full year there and see if Headley can get used to playing in left. I'd love to have both of them in the lineup at the same time next season, adding rookie Matt Antonelli to the mix I think is going to be huge with Kouz and Headley.

I thought my signature had teeth. As far as the Bay rumor, doubt it. As far as him being a moron, this proves it. Firing a good coach who no other person could have done any better with that team isn't a good sign.

It was the Indians that were putting Kouz in left. If Headley is as good as you guys think, then he would be the smart choice for third and Kouz to LF. Kouz showed improvement throughout the season both defensively and offensively but isn't the quickest dude on the hot corner.

I disagree with putting Kouz in left, because that would mean you're starting over at 3rd base for the 3rd or 4th straight season. You know what you get with Kouz at 3rd, and it's not all that bad. Headley has more foot speed than Kouz, meaning Headley can cover more ground in left than Kouz would.

I have mixed feelings about putting Kouz in left, but one thing that wouldn't stop me from doing so is pointless principals of "starting over again"

Who cares if they're "starting over at 3rd yet again" if it's what's best for the team?

And I think if you're going to try to convert a 3bag to play LF........why not look for an established quality LFer instead and trade one of your kickass 3bags for him in a package deal if needed......that way you're not putting someone out there that isn't comfortable, instead you're getting a proven commodity for the position you're trying to fill.....

And since this new GM is a moron........lets be the first to rape him

I think what he was getting at is how could starting over be best for the team, when there is no need to start over to begin with ?

Then focus on why it's not best for the team rather than basing an argument on a pointless principal....

At least, that's just my thought process on the subject.

Leo, what I mean by "starting over again" is, at least you know what you get defensively with Kouz, but we don't know what we'll get with Headley at 3rd or Kouz being moved to left, do we?

I'm sure they wouldn't move Kouz to left without first putting him there in offseason leagues and/or camp and spring training.

Yeah, that's not the regular season, but defense is defense and i'm sure they'd have some idea of what they'd get out of him.

    Re: Jason Bay available?

That's what all the talk is about, who they move to left field. Is it going to be Kouz or Headley. I agree that they wouldn't make that move without trying it during Spring Training.

No offense to PFF, but I'm less sold on trading Headley to Pittsburgh to bring back Jason Bay. I liked the idea when I first heard it, but I think I'd rather give Headley a shot in left before you call Pittsburgh to talk about Jason Bay.

    Re: Jason Bay available?

    No offense taken..........

I'd prefer a proven LFer to an unproven 3bag playing an unproven LF........simple as that.......IMO that's a terrible idea if you have a choice. If we don't end up having a choice, then go for it. If you do have a choice, and don't take it, it's a terrible move.
