I'm still reading 2 different things, one that they have made an offer and one that they WILL make an offer. I've yet to see anything from the Padres confirming they've made an offer to any free agent thus far.

One thing I did hear is Loretta is no longer an option for the Padres, that came from somone I know at XX Sports Radio. I also talked to Brian McTaggart of the Houston Chronicle about Loretta. Now that Blum is set to sign with Houston, he thinks Blummer will get majority of the playing time and he doesn't see Loretta coming back to Houston either.
