Miguel Cabrera is one option, though Baggarly doesn't see the Giants offering up Tim Lincecum to jump into the fray. However Schulman's source says the Giants have been "one of the most aggressive teams" after Cabrera. Who to believe?
The reason I post that is...what if the Padres jump into the Giants/Marlins deal and make it a 3-way deal? If Cabrera goes to the Giants and the Giants send Lincecum and maybe another player to Florida, why not offer Chase Headley for Lincecum?

I brought it up because Pads tried to keep going on about me never manning up to my mistakes which i always do. Its not my fault he nnever ventures out of the Pads forum to know any better so i brought up him being wrong and you contradicting yourself. Pads and I made different statements that meant the same thing but his is somehow better? Like I don't know the Pads had other holes to fill? If they aren't going to pay Rowand $12/yr because he's out of price range, they aren't going to pay Colon the $11 mil+/yr. It's very simple!

If you want Cabrera, who do you think Florida is going to ask for? The Padres could get into conversations with Florida after the Giants complete the deal with Florida for Cabrera. Yes, if Silva is going to make Ted Lilly money than Colon will too. Colon started the year off well last season but injuries cost him and his is said to be throwing fine now. People are already predicting him to make $10-11 mil on a one year deal. Ok, we all got what you said and didn't need it repeated. The issue changed after your hypocritical rants towards me.
Then it wouldn't be a three way deal. You are just one of those guys who changes the rules in the middle of the game. And yes the Giants can do something about it. They can have the understanding that if they trade Lincecum to the Marlins that the Marlins can't move him. If the Marlins don't agree, no deal. Teams have done it before. Anyways it's a dumb idea since the Marlins are looking for pitching in this deal. Why trade your best hitter for a future ace then trade that ace for a guy with less talent than Cabrera? Marlins want pitching and that's why Lincecum is the piece they won't the deal centered around.
Do you have a link showing how much Colon is going to make, I haven't seen any possible numbers on him at all.
