    Anyone KNOW the actual total
i just went through the schedule:

    Apr 3: 7-0 win (Peavy) @ SF
Apr 9: 1-0 win (Young) vs SF
Apr 11: 4-0 win (Maddux) vs SF
May 1: 3-0 win (Young) vs WAS
May 11: 7-0 win (Peavy) vs STL
May 13: 3-0 win (Germano) vs STL
May 27: 3-0 win (Peavy) vs MIL
    May 30: 9-0 win (Young) @ PIT
Jun 5: 1-0 win (Linebrink) vs LAD
    Jun 13: 9-0 win (Peavy) @ TB
    Jun 16: 1-0 win (Bell) @ CHC
Jul 4: 1-0 win (Bell) vs FLA
    Jul 15: 4-0 win (Germano) @ ARI
Jul 19: 1-0 win (Young) vs PHI
Aug 2: 11-0 win (Peavy) vs ARI
    Aug 7: 4-0 win (Peavy) @ STL
Aug 14: 8-0 win (Maddux) vs COL
Sep 1: 7-0 win (Peavy) vs LAD
Sep 15: 6-0 win (Tomko) vs SF

That's 19 shutouts, four of them against SF. Seven of them where Peavy got the win.

    Lucky?

I'll refrain from counter smacking the rest of your post. I really feel nothing but pity when a fan of a cellar dweller tries to smack talk a playoff contender.
Yes exactly lucky, when/if you play playoff contenders there not going to put a 0 spot on Tomko when/if he pitches, also when/if you play contenders there teams closers wont blow it in 9th like ours did, so basically dont expect these lucky wins when/if you play any contender.

I wasn't talking smak if thats what you think, I was just making a point whether or not you guys agree with me or not thats another story.

Cain pitched a beauty and once again got no run support. Tomko has had our number tis year for some odd reason. There was that non-fan interference call but that didn't really factor in the game. Good time for Messenger to blow up. I will not comment on the classless one since I have already called him out repeatedly. 19 shutouts is awesome and shows what kind of staff this team has. I think Cain is going to work really hard on his hitting since no one else will get runs for him.

Winning 6-0 is not "lucky" no matter how you try and spin it.

But, given the rest of your post, I'm assuming I was right in my last post in this thread.

When/if the Padres play in the playoffs Tomko will not be starting...or even on the roster for that matter.

Really? Closers never blow games in the playoffs?

    Tell that to Mariano Rivera.

There's a lot of luck involved in the playoffs, actually.

    It's part of the game.

    Just ask Steve Bartman.

That's not the impression I get when you come running in here crying that the Padres "Didn't win shit, they got lucky "

Funny thing is when you look at this list, there are at least 7 potential play-off teams thgat we shut out, so i am feeling pretty confident we could do it in the play-offs too. Oh by the way the SF Gnats are not one of the seven.

    Apr 3: 7-0 win (Peavy) @ SF
Apr 9: 1-0 win (Young) vs SF

Peavy, CY, Maddux in a short series............and this offense giving them some run support..........and we can play with just about anyone......finally Kouz is moved up in the order, I hope he stays there even when MB comes back ( if he comes back )

Why isn't Tomko-Weaver going to be on the playoff roster........is it a time with the club issue ??

I figured it was a time with the team issue.........but wasn't sure the exacts......are there any loopholes we might see used for him to be on the roster ? Why would he agree to come here, get paid near nothing from us, and not have a chance to pitch in the post season ?

I believe if someone on the eligible 25 man roster gets injured they can replace him with someone not on it.

    I don't think he's on the 25 man roster.
