I know this may not be the right post to ask this question, but can someone tell me why the Padres didn't give Jack Cust a shot? There were some questions about his defense, but in 349 innings combined in right and left field, he's made just 3 errors. I'm not saying "what if", but every time I look at his numbers, I wonder why we decided to go with Jose Cruz Jr and Terrmell Sledge at the start of the season.

I'll answer this as soon as the 8 previous teams that also didn't give him a shot give us an adequate answer.

Hell, Oakland even had him before and gave up on him.

Good thing (for them) that they gave him a 2nd go-a-round, though.

I kept hearing, he sucks on defense, he sucks on defense....I'd love it if XX would ask Sandy or KT that question.
