But even if you're doing that at least you're not just blindly pitching around the guy because he's their best hitter and there's runner(s) on base.
MrPadre19 is a much more astute student of the game and knows a lot more about the game than that, and I dont think that's what he was saying to do, as much as just saying please dont let Holliday kill us again in a broad and sarcastic way...

    But I could be wrong.

If that's the case you'll have to forgive me.

I'm pretty jaded from reading after-the-fact rants of "why did you pitch to him?!" after an RBI is given up in the 1st or 2nd inning to a guy like Matt Holliday.

I'll take a sweep on this series as well....Chris Young is bound to bounce back after 2 rough outings.

    You would certainly hope so.

Yea sorry.....didn't mean "walk him"...just pitch VERY CAREFULLY!
    Don't challenge him.
To me you pitch him "almost" as you did Barry Bonds 3 years ago.

Any chance of the Padres shutting down Young for a couple of starts or maybe until the playoffs given the Padres get there? It's not like he is helping the chances very much. He did better today as far as giving up runs and strikeouts but still looks like shit. He was all over the place giving up five walks in just five innings and throwing 100 pitches. Over his last four starts he has 17 ERs in 18 IP with a 0-3 record. Just wanted to get your input on this.

Like I said he isn't exactly helping anything. Giving up and helping save your second best pitcher from further harm are two different things but I see what you are saying. Hope it pans out. Just a thought.
