Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
The last pitch of the night they call a strike when they called it a ball all night for Maddux?
Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
The umps this series were very bad.
Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
Ugh.
On a bright note, Parker Brothers is 3/8 in his first two games as a Padre.
Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
Even with that last pitch the Braves should win that game anyway. That last pitch did look like a ball, I'll admit that. I didn't see the whole game. I got home for my lunch break about 9pm est.
I'm sure if the situation was switched the Braves fans would be upset with the call and Padres fans would celebrate.

I didn't watch the game, so I'm going by what a lot of people i've talked to on the subject have said here.
That being said, I understand different umps are going to have varying zones and some will call a pitch a ball that others will call a strike and vice versa.
All I really ask for is consistency. If you're calling a pitch a ball one time call it a ball the entire game. If you call a pitch a strike one time call it a strike the entire game.
From what I understand...and even the announcers said it on the last pitch (saw the replay of the 9th)....the called strike 3 was in the same exact location that was apparently called a ball a lot for Greg Maddux that got Maddux a bit uptight at the ump earlier in the game.
Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
That pitch was a ball, there were closer pitches thrown by Greg Maddux that were called balls. So why is he changing his call at the end of the game?

bottomline.......Boston was desperate to get back something they needed but didn't realize how much, Houston is NOT......I hope I'm wrong.........I'll applaude KT and the FO if it gets done.....
Funny thing.....Loretta could be involved in both deals if this happens :D
I've had that problem a couple of times too, is that a glitch with the site or is that big brother censuring our posts?

Damn you, hahaha...
And I am glad to see MB made such an impact... One half dozen the other, I guess.
Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07
Padres only getting 1 run off Kyle Davies who had a 3-7 record and an ERA well over 5.30. So sad...

I think losing to Kim last series was worse but we have made a lot of bad pitchers look CY Young this season especially at Petco.
