    Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07

I just didn't think that, if he was ready, that we should hold him out. He makes this lineup better and, with Cruz in there instead, I don't think we win this game today.

Since we have a "Trade Linebrink" thread started here...how about a "Trade Cruz" thread?

    Who would trade for cruz?

You may as well title the thread "dump Cruz"

Problem is.......Cruz has zero value and is a toss in at best to any deal......hardly a headline guy or someone that should have his own thread

How about adding him as part of the package to Houston for Loretta? Though, I don't think Houston would take him, especially with Pence, Lee and Berkman already in the outfield.

Linebrink would have to be part of that package for Loretta.

How about a Linebrink for Loretta and either Ensberg or Mike Lamb?

Do you think that'd have any affect on any trade back to Houston?

What's your reasoning behind that thought process.

I mean, Boston overpaid to get back a horrible back up catcher, why would Houston be hesitant to trade for Linebrink back just because they gave up on him too early 5 years ago?

I took 5 min to write a long explanation that was deleted for some reason when posting.......

bottomline.......Boston was desperate to get back something they needed but didn't realize how much, Houston is NOT......I hope I'm wrong.........I'll applaude KT and the FO if it gets done.....

Funny thing.....Loretta could be involved in both deals if this happens

    Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07

Teams trade for players they previously gave up on all the time. I don't see how Houston cutting Linebrink years ago before they knew what they had has anything to do with whether or not they'd want to trade for him now.

Would have been nice to have gotten Ensberg last year but we have 3B now so he wouldn't have a position to play and KT and Co. should do better then Loretta if they trade Linebrink.

    Re: Braves@Padres 7/6/07-7/8/07

I think Houston would be all for bringing Linebrink in, especially with Brad Lidge being injured and not exactly nails when he is the closer. I think they'd be able to put Liney right into that closer role which is something he's already said he'd like to be in.

I think you can put together a Linebrink, Branyan, Blum for Loretta and Ensberg? I'd try to put a package together for Berkman myself.
