Yes he's needed one for a while now.........I'm kind pissed he didn't get it while we faced a lesser team in the Fish during a 4 game series....as opposed to a good team in the Braves in a 3 game series.......makes me wonder a little about Blacks experience or lack of right now......ugh......I hope he learned

He was probably blindly hoping that Adrian would work out of it on his own so he wouldn't have to sit his best hitter.

I agree that it was unwise and that he should've rested him a long time ago, just stating that that's probably what was holding him off.

Theres been several occassions this season (I think the last was against the Dogers) when Black runs some wacked as line-up out there in the most awful of times. I'm starting to wonder if an ex-pitching coach has what it takes to be a great manager.

Black's been pretty damn good overall.

I'm willing to give some of these questionable moves a pass as "rookie mistakes"

Hopefully he learns from them. I might not be so lenient next year.

I dont think so, I think he inherited a hell of a team and they have made him look good, but I dont think he has done anything to impress me yet. I still only give him a C+ for this year.

An F goes to a manager that takes a great team and makes them look bad, an A+ goes to a manager that takes a bad team and makes them look good (ala Joe Girardi last season), Black is just average. Other than the fact he loved Over the Hill Veterans (AKA OHV's), I would rather have Boch back to be quite honest, I think that was his only major flaw.

I liked Bochy and think he had a bad rap here. I was mad to see him go.

Of course he's not really making much of a case for himself up in San Fran.

Well your kind of right, because based upon what I said, he inherited a bad team (IMO) and if he could have made them look good, he would have proved my point that he is a good manager, and I thought he was making a run at it there for a while, but lately they have sucked.

I dont know, I just am not impressed with Black thus far. Jusy my opinion.

It's not Blacks fault that whenever he gives a Starter a day off he only has "crap" to throw out there!
Our Bench is sorely lacking.I don't think theres a single guy hitting .250?
So our line-up takes a big hit "anytime" he rests someone.
I wish we could get Loretta to go along with Bradley and Barrett.
That would truly improve our bench!
Loretta and Bradley would have every position covered.
I'd still keep Blum, but only as a pinch hitter, and we could lose Sledge or Branyan as far as I'm concerned!
