    Chris Young snubbed again

Chris Young has been just about as dominant as Jake Peavy this year and deserves to be at the ASG.

    Everyone go vote for him

It is nice, however, to see at least 2 Padres on the roster for the first time in I don't know how long, though.

What has Hamels done that Young hasn't? Young, if he keeps it up, will be a CY Young candidate without question of course and this omission is baffling.

The only thing Hamels (or even Peavy, for that matter) has on Chris Young is strike out totals.

    Absolute joke.

I've already started voting for him.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Which I could understand being a deciding factor had his ERA or other numbers been closer, but despite pitching a few more innings... I'll take Young missing a lot more bats as a sign of dominance to account for his lower K/9 to Hamels.

If Young can hold the Sox to a single hit, he deserves a spot.

NO.......I prefer he gets a weeks rest so that he can recharge his batteries for the 2nd half.......who gives a shit about the ASG......we have half a season to play, and CY isn't known for his stamina during the 2nd half.....so I'd much prefer he not be there and spends that time recouping.......hell I'd wish that for all our players.........the ASG is a joke IMO anyway

    Re: Chris Young snubbed again

It's one game, a game in which Chris Young would pitch one inning at most.

I really doubt that that would tire him out for the 2nd half of the season.

    Re: Chris Young snubbed again

Did you read my original post ? CY has been known to lose stamina as the year wears on......I'm not for this happening......I think the extra time could go a long way to recharge his batteries

    Re: Chris Young snubbed again

So you really think one inning of work in an exhibition game will tire Chris Young out for the 2nd half of the season?

    Re: Chris Young snubbed again

I think if you believe the entire experience wont be draining......you are being naive.....

And I think the additional rest, and non-exposure to the insanity surrounding the ASG will yield a much more rested and focused CY........yes

    Re: Chris Young snubbed again

What's involved in the entire "experience"?

He sits in the pen, perhaps cheers the NL on a bit...maybe not (being an exhibition and all.) bullshits with the other pitchers out there.

At some point he gets up and warms up and then goes out to pitch for maybe an inning.

This is supposed to tire him out to where he can't pitch as effectively in the 2nd half?

What am I missing that's making me naive? (Which isn't an insult, btw, on the off chance you took it as such in the other thread and carried it over here as a response.)

It's one game. Even if it was another Padres game that he'd be taking seriously and pitching 7 innings of it wouldn't have the drastic affect on the 2nd half that you're making it out to be.
