To make room for Bradley on the 40-man roster, the Padres designated left-handed pitcher Sean Thompson for assignment.

There's a difference between "anger" and "throwing chairs and screaming at your boss" like Bradley was doing.

He is a better overall player than Cruz, Sledge, Boca & Branyan so it's an upgrade......high reward low risk scenario
You are getting a guy who has never hit more than 19 homers and has hit over .300 just once. Not to mention he is always hurt and is right now. That wrist is going to bother him for some time. Same shit, different day.

    Maybe........maybe not?
If not then he is an upgrade over Sledge/Boca/Branyan.
If yes....we lost a AAA reliever with nowhere to pitch.
We have others pitching well at AAA,and KT has proven he has no trouble finding good, young, cheap arms.
Worst case scenario he sits on the bench or is released......oh well!

He does most of his damage in around 105 games, then falls apart......last time I checked we have fewer than that left, so I'm looking forward to those 19 HR's in the second half.....

Look.......nobody is suggesting he's the savior, nor are we treating him like that.....but we are treating him like he's an upgrade, however slight, over what we've been running into LF for the last few months.......

If you're not on board with this, I'm sure it's because you're getting ready for your teams FIRESALE......enjoy your rebuild.....good luck with your megaspending in the offseason.....

Bradley can be an upgrade to the three guys the Padres are throwing out in left field. That being said if he can cool his head and if he can stay off the D.L. which he has a frequency of landing on. Hope it works out for the Padres though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was an oblique injury that is hampering him right now. Second, I wasn't a fan of this deal either, but if he comes in and hits the ball all over the ball park and helps this team offensively as well as defensively, who am I to argue?

It is an oblique injury but that wrist is still bothering him. You guys think it is an upgrade, I don't. This changes and does nothing like I said. 19 homers He will have 10 for the whole year and he already has 2.

As for your firesale theory, sadly we don't have anyone to really sell. Losing Durham, Morris and Feliz is not a bad thing. We will get ready for the trade deadline, you guys get ready for another first round ass whooping

You don't think he's an upgrade? Yeah he's only hit as many as 19 HR's in a season, but he's only had over 500 AB's, what, once? I honestly hope he proves you, and me for that matter, wrong and gives this team a boost offensively.

the Padres placed Bradley on the DL retroactive to June 21st with a strained oblique
he's expected to return after the All Star break

Milton Bradley at around 80% is about what you got in LF now so no I don't think he's an upgrade.

    That didn't take long

(probably expected and accepted at the time of the trade, though)
